The practical side of ownership
A thoughtful routine.
A better everyday experience.
Plan handling, cleaning and storage before your doll arrives. The right routine depends on its exact materials, surface finish, internal structure and features.
This is a general introduction. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions supplied for your specific model.
01 · HANDLING
Support the weight. Move deliberately.
Support the doll during lifting and changes of position. Move joints slowly within the manufacturer’s permitted range; avoid sudden movement, forcing a joint or twisting the surrounding material. Use suitable assistance if the weight is difficult to manage.
Confirm the approved standing, hanging or supported storage method for the exact model. Do not assume an appearance feature means it can support its own weight.
02 · CLEANING
Keep the method gentle and model-specific.
Choose compatible products
Use the cleaner and water temperature recommended for the model. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh solvents and vigorous rubbing, particularly around painted details.
Protect vulnerable areas
Follow instructions for removable heads, neck fittings, connectors and electronic features. Keep water away from areas the manufacturer has not approved for washing.
Dry before storage
Use the manufacturer’s drying method and allow the required drying time. Do not put the doll into storage while moisture remains.
Powders, oils, lotions, stain removers, lubricants and repair products must be compatible with the exact material and finish. Confirm the approved product rather than choosing by a generic silicone or TPE label.
03 · STORAGE & APPEARANCE
Consider the surfaces in contact with the doll.
Use the approved support and storage arrangement. Keep the doll clean, dry and protected from prolonged direct light and extreme temperatures. Check the compatibility of clothing, fabrics and accessories before leaving them in extended contact with the surface.
Long-term storage instructions may differ from everyday display instructions. Ask which clothing, covers and support points are appropriate for the model.
04 · HAIR, FINISH & SPECIAL FEATURES
Treat each component according to its instructions.
Check whether hair is a removable wig or implanted, and whether any heat styling or cosmetics are permitted. Follow separate operating and care instructions for powered or mechanical features. Ask about compatibility before adding an accessory or changing an appearance detail.
05 · IF SOMETHING LOOKS WRONG
Pause and document the issue.
If you notice a tear, change in surface finish, unusual joint resistance or a problem with a powered feature, stop the activity that could worsen it. Photograph the affected area and keep the model reference and supplied instructions available.
Contact support before applying an unconfirmed cleaner, adhesive or repair method. Damage-reporting and service terms will be confirmed before ordering opens.
Common care questions.
Can I use the same care products for silicone and TPE?
Do not assume so. Confirm compatibility for the head, body, painted areas and other components with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Can the entire doll be immersed in water?
Only use a washing method expressly approved for the exact model. Neck fittings, removable heads and powered features may need separate precautions.
What should I do if a care product is not listed in the instructions?
Ask for confirmation before applying it. Send the product name, model reference and the area you intend to treat to support.
Are care accessories included?
Check the model’s included-items list. Do not assume cleaning, storage or repair accessories shown in a photograph come with the base configuration.
General manufacturer references
The general principles above were cross-checked against ZELEX’s doll guide, Realdoll’s care guide and Realdoll’s joint-handling guidance. These references describe those manufacturers’ own products and do not establish the instructions or compatibility of an Arouvix model.
